W F Weeks

W. F. “Willy” Weeks is a geophysicist with long-term interests in the ice covers of the polar oceans. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in geology from the University of Illinois and his Ph.D. in geochemistry from the University of Chicago. He has authored over 300 technical papers on various aspects of the polar regions and has contributed to several monographs on sea ice. In addition to his scientific interests, he is a contrabassist currently playing with orchestras in the Portland, Oregon area.
