Herndon Davis: Journalist and Painter at the Denver Public Library opened today with a reception and talk by Craig Leavitt and Thomas J Noel. The exhibit runs through August 31, 2016.
This exhibit includes elections from the rich Herndon Davis (1901-1962) collection found in the Western History and Genealogy Department collections. Most of the paintings are watercolors of Denver's historic buildings as well as a couple from elsewhere in the state. Davis created portraits and storyboard drawings for newspapers making him not only an artists but a journalist as well.
