Jeremy D. Coltman has taught in the Department of Anthropology at California State University, Los Angeles; Santa Monica College; and University of California, Riverside. He is fascinated with the ideological and artistic influence of the ancient Maya on the Late Postclassic Nahua and Aztec civilizations, a subject on which he has published in a number of journals including Mexicon, Latin American Antiquity, and Ancient Mesoamerica. His current research involves an investigation of the Maya solar cult at the site of Chichen Itza, Yucatan, Mexico.
