Gerhard-Friedrich Muller's brief outline of Russian voyages from Asia to America, which he printed himself in both German and Russian in 1758, was quickly translated into English and French during the 1760s. This volume makes Muller's more detailed narration available and supplements it with other documents of and about the Second Kamchatka Expedition so that English-language readers can gain a fuller appreciation of Muller's remarkable contribution to the exploration of Siberia.
