R. Patrick Bixler is a research fellow with the RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service in the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, Austin, and a senior fellow at the Pinchot Institute for Conservation. His work focuses on the intersection of ecology, economy, and governance in both large intact landscapes and urban contexts. He has published research on issues of land and water management, biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation, residential development, and urban resilience
