Jacqueline Rhodes & Jonathan Alexander win the 2016 CCCC Lavender Rhetorics Book Award!

Congratulations to Jacqueline Rhodes and Jonathan Alexander, winners of the 2016 CCCC Lavender Rhetorics Award for Excellence in Queer Scholarship’s Book Award for Techne: Queer Meditations on Writing the Self!

This award is given to the book, article, and dissertation "that best make queer interventions into the study of composition and rhetoric. Works should rise to a high level of excellence in their originality, the significance of their pedagogical or theoretical contributions to the field, and their existing or potential influence." It will be presented at the 2016 CCCC Annual Convention in Houston on Friday, April 8, at the Awards/Recognition Reception, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

Jonathan Alexander

Jonathan Alexander is Associate Professor of English at the University of California, Irvine, where he also serves as Campus Writing Coordinator. His previous books include Digital Youth: Emerging Literacies on the World Wide Web, the co-edited collection Role Play: Distance Learning and the Teaching of Writing, the co-authored textbook Argument Now, a Brief Rhetoric, and the co-edited book Bisexuality and Transgenderism: InterSEXions of the Others.
